Looking out for South Shields refuge

09 December, 2015

Specsavers in South Shields are collecting festive donations on behalf of a local refuge.

The team are collecting presents for women, children and teenagers under the care of Places for People in partnership with South Tyneside Women’s Aid this Christmas.

A word about the appeal

Bryan Clark, director of Specsavers in South Shields, says: ‘We are very grateful for the work Places for People carries out to support those in need in our area.

‘Christmas time can be especially difficult for those under the care of the refuge and we want to help in whatever way we can. ‘A small gesture such as a gift can really make a difference and we hope the community gets behind the appeal.’

How to get involved

Drop off an unwrapped gift in store for a woman, child or teenager. We’ll make sure it is delivered to families receiving support from the refuge in time for Christmas.
