Keeping local children safe

Children from schools across Haverhill will be safer on school trips and outings thanks to a local opticians.

Triple school donation

Raju Fynn, store director at Specsavers Haverhill, located at 8 The Chaunty, visited Clements Primary, Coupals Primary School, and Westfields Primary School over the last month to donate high-visibility vests. The visits proved so successful that the local police requested a number of vests to use when they organise trips with local children.

Raju says: ‘We’re all very aware of how busy the roads around town can get, so we thought the vests would be extremely useful to help pupils stay safe when they’re out and about.’

Road safety

Specsavers has campaigned throughout the past decade to highlight the link between vision and road safety. In addition to its work donating hi-vis vests to schools across the country, Specsavers has toured motor and country shows nationwide, screening drivers’ vision in its Drive Safe campaign trailer.
