Opticians in the pink for cancer charity
Customers who visited a Northfield opticians might have thought they were wearing rose coloured specs last month October as they were greeted by a team in pink!
Staff at Specsavers in Northfield offered sweet treats in return for donations in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Friday 24 October. Other activities included bingo, a competition to guess how many sweets in the jar and a loom band sale. The store raised more than £347 in total.
‘The whole team wanted to support this initiative as most of us know someone who has been affected by breast cancer,’ said Sue Birch store manager, who made 100 loom bands to sell on the day.
Breast Cancer Care is the only UK-wide support charity helping the thousands of women waking up to the harsh reality of breast cancer every day. Specialist nurses, local services and emotional support networks mean there’s always someone to turn to for information and support.
