Specsavers in South Shields have collected more than 100 Christmas parcels to donate to a local refuge.
Parcels donated to women and children
Specsavers, on King Street, collected gift donations from customers and members of the public throughout December for Places for People in partnership with South Tyneside Women’s Aid. The parcels were then distributed to women, children and teenagers across the local community who were under the care of the refuge at Christmas.
A word from the director
Bryan Clark, director of Specsavers in South Shields, says: ‘We are delighted with the amount of parcels we have been able to collect in aid of Places for People.
‘The charity does great work each year caring for those less fortunate and being able to give them a gift to open on Christmas morning will have meant the world to the recipients.
‘I would like to thanks all of our customers for their generosity.’
