The team at the Leighton Buzzard store has helped a teenager excel in a sport thanks to a change in her prescription eyewear.
18 year old Paige Britsch from Warneford Way is a keen clay pigeon shooter. Excellent vision is necessary but despite being short-sighted, Paige has been able to excel. She attributes this to the help she received from the team.
Praise from a sporting star
Paige said: ‘I won a trophy for the first time at a members’ event held at Atkin Grant & Lang shooting ground towards the end of 2015. Prior to the event, I had visited Specsavers in Leighton Buzzard who were amazing at finding the right pair of shooting glasses for me and I believe my new eyewear assisted with my win.’
She continued: ‘Shooting in the sun is difficult and if you wear normal prescription sunglasses, you struggle to see the target clearly. They suggested coloured lenses to go over my prescription glasses. The orange-tinted lenses help to dull the sunlight yet ensure I can still see a moving target clearly.’
Paige concluded: ‘I am very happy with the service I received at Specsavers. The staff worked hard to ensure I left the store 100% satisfied. By listening to my requirements and tailoring my prescription, I was able to go on and achieve great things with my clay pigeon shooting.’
A word from the director
Ekta Kotecha, director of Specsavers Leighton Buzzard said: ‘Paige’s feedback is testament to our commitment to offer a tailored, quality service to every individual that walks over our threshold. We wish Paige all the best in her sport going forward.’
