Specsavers Idle asked to name guide dog puppy
The team at Specsavers in Idle have been invited to name a guide dog puppy and are inviting members of the community to send in their suggestions.
The staff in store have long been committed to raising money for Guide Dogs and have reached their fundraising target of £5,000, which will fund the breeding and early training of a guide dog puppy.
A chance to play a special part in a puppy's life
Bhrat Phakey, store director at Idle Specsavers, commented: ‘We’re absolutely thrilled to have reached our target, and would like to thank our loyal customers for their continued support at our fundraising events.
That’s why we’ve decided to open up this exciting opportunity to the public. A name is the first gift that a guide dog puppy receives, and this is a chance for someone to play a special part in its life changing story.
We’ll be sending off three suggestions, and one of them might be yours!’
How to pick a name that works
The names most likely to be picked should be two syllables long, and shouldn’t resemble dog training commands like ‘sit’, ‘wait’ and ‘stand’.
Suggestions should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday 7 July.
