Eyecare experts from Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush championed an international sight charity at their very own cultural festival.

The teams from Specsavers in Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush hosted in-store fundraising drives in aid of the charity Vision Aid Overseas during a weekend-long celebration of world cultures.

Dressed to impress in traditional dress from around the globe, they collected £123 for the charity. The donation will be made alongside a donation of 351 pairs of specs collected in store in the charity’s 30th anniversary year. The specs will be recycled and their salvageable parts sold to raise money for the charity’s work improving access to eyecare services in the developing world.

A word from the store director

Rebecca Burgess, store director of Specsavers in Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush, said: ‘These events were about celebrating world cultures and supporting people in need around the globe.

‘As eyecare experts, we choose to put the spotlight on an international sight charity close to our hearts. We had a wonderful response from the community and are thrilled our donations will be help make a difference in people’s lives.’
