Specsavers Hillsborough took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, supporting Macmillan Cancer Support in its crusade to help the 2.5 million people in the UK who are living with cancer.
Vital funds were raised
On Friday 25th and Saturday 26th September the team at Specsavers Hillsborough hosted a coffee morning to raise a fantastic £165 for the cancer charity.
Specsavers on Middlewood Road invited members of the local community to join them in raising money for Macmillan, while enjoying some of the most delicious cakes Hillsborough has to offer.
There was even a VIP guest to hand – John Burkhill, local hero, joined the team for a well-earned biscuit.
A word from the director
Gary Bamford, store director at Specsavers in Hillsborough, said: 'We are thrilled to support Macmillan and all the work that they do with not only our local residents but the entire UK. It was great to see the local community coming together for coffee and cake to help raise a total that we can be proud of.
It’s always such a fun event and it was great to see those pop by who have been personally affected or even just want to make a change.'
