Opticians have had a busy month fundraising
The team at Specsavers in Sutton in Ashfield have been very busy during the month of October, holding numerous fundraising events!
Guide Dogs fundraising day
On Saturday 11 October, the store welcomed a special canine visitor and set up an activity corner for children where youngsters could make their own loom bands using the Specsavers and Guide Dogs green and yellow colours. They raised £43.29 in total for Guide Dogs!
Specsavers has an ongoing partnership with Guide Dogs which has already seen Specsavers raise enough money to pay for the breeding and training costs of 25 guide dog pups. Guide Dogs provides mobility and freedom to blind and partially sighted people. It also campaigns for the rights of people with visual impairment, educates the public about eyecare and funds eye disease research.
Breast Cancer Awareness
The team donned their pink ties and scarves in aid of Breast Cancer Care for Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) and donated money, raising £26.75.
Breast Cancer Awareness month is an annual initiative which sees people across the globe fundraise for causes that support world-class research and development for breast cancer. In the last twenty years, the campaign to overcome breast cancer has gone from strength to strength, and more women are outliving the disease than ever before. But, it's still the most common form of cancer.
Specsavers offices and stores across the UK are taking part in fundraising activity for Breast Cancer Care during October.
The store will be decked out in creepy decoration for Halloween on Friday 31 October where the meet and greet team will be dressed up and handing out colouring sheets and sweets to keep the children entertained!
