Despite the hot weather, a group of opticians from Specsavers in Strood, Chatham, Gillingham and Faversham took on the popular Pretty Muddy run around Mote Park in Maidstone on Sunday 8 .

A good cause

The “Specta-girls” managed to raise the staggering amount of nearly £2,300 for Cancer Research UK.

A word from the store director 

Faversham store director and Specta-girl member Joanna Wyndham said: ‘It was great to join so many other women all taking part in such an important cause – certainly worth getting stuck in the mud for!’

Chatham, Strood and Gillingham store director, Craig Holland commented: ‘We are really pleased with our girls for taking part in this year’s Pretty Muddy run and raise essential funds for those affected by cancer. It is a fantastic event and we enjoyed watching them and cheering them all on the race!’
