Belle Vale to donate hi-vis vests

10 November, 2015

Specsavers in Belle Vale is supporting Road Safety Week again this year, by donating hi-vis vests to local children who need to stay visible as the nights get darker.

The store is joining a national effort by Specsavers to help provide thousands of high-visibility vests to hundreds of local schools and groups across the UK such as Brownies, Guides and Scouts.

At this time of year with the dark mornings and nights, combined with increasingly wintry weather, it can be difficult for motorists to see pedestrians.

Many children are walking home from school at dusk, which is a particularly hazardous time. The optician is pledging its commitment to road safety by providing high-visibility vests, which will improve the safety of children when out and about by making it easier for motorists to spot them.

Selected Specsavers stores across the region still have high-visibility vests available to donate. Contact your local Specsavers store to enquire about the vests. Find out more about Road Safety Week here.
