Specsavers is showing its community spirit by calling out for local children to draw their version of ‘What Leigh Means to Me’ for inclusion in an arts display in the town centre.
Staff in the Leigh store are currently organising for a mural to be painted opposite its store on Bradshawgate, with the theme of ‘What Leigh Means to Me’.
They are calling out for local schools and youth groups to take part in the process, by submitting artwork by children for inclusion in the mural.
Store manager Mathew Averall says: ’The community spirit in Leigh is as strong as ever. We’ve been honoured to serve the people of Leigh for years, and would like to give them the opportunity to show what they think of when they think of Leigh!
‘From the Town Hall to the War Memorial, Leigh has many landmarks we’re expecting to see on the mural. Or perhaps it’s something completely unique that makes you think of Leigh. We’d like every child in Leigh to have the opportunity to have their artwork proudly displayed in the town centre!’
