Optician walks on hot coals for charity
Staff at the Acomb Specsavers walked on hot coals this week in aid of York Blind & Partially Sighted Society.
The team at Specsavers in Acomb gathered outside the Coppergate Centre in York to embark on York Blind & Partially Sighted Society’s Fire Walk challenge.
An amazing achievement
After donating £100 to the cause, the team walked barefoot over 648⁰C hot coals, and managed to raise a total of £135 for the charity.
The charity advocates, develops and provides services and facilities, which enable people who are blind or partially sighted to achieve independence with dignity, in all aspects of life and sectors of society.
