Michael Todd, store director, is preparing to cycle from coast to coast in a bid to raise £2,000 in aid of Cancer Research UK.
On Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 May, we are teaming up with staff from four other Specsavers stores in the South West to support the Specsavers South West Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge.
Store director Michael Todd, 29, will be taking part in the charity bike ride, along with Simon Simmonds, 40, and Sean Crome, 45, from Specsavers in Torquay.
Close to home
The cycle team are riding in memory of Joy Filon, long-standing store director in Torquay, who sadly passed away after a bold fight with cancer in 2014 and Simon’s wife who followed just seven months later. Money raised as a result of the challenge will be donated to Cancer Research UK.
Michael Todd said: ‘I’m thrilled to be joining Simon and Sean on this challenge. It’s a wonderful cause and personal for many of those involved. We are hoping to raise as much as possible in aid of the life-saving research and treatment offered by Cancer Research UK.’
The bike ride will begin at the Specsavers store in Minehead and visit Tiverton, Exeter and Teignmouth, before arriving in Torquay, covering a total distance of 90 miles across the two days.
