Fundraise for Lucas Parry

A LOCAL optician has donated all most £200 to a 19-month old, local boy named Lucas Parry from Swinefleet.

With significant contributions coming from the Goole community, the Specsavers team collected £198.84 which was presented to Lucas’ parents, Tessa Whiting and Liam Parry.

Staff from Specsavers in Goole embarked on a fundraising programme throughout December 2015 to raise funds to contribute towards buying sensory equipment for Lucas.

Young Lucas, who was diagnosed with quadriplegic spastic cerebral palsy in April 2015, has been bought a bubble wall, fibre optic lights and specially designed toys.

A word from the store director
Robery Winlow, store director at Specsavers in Goole, comments: “The team at Specsavers Goole had lots of fun fundraising in December. We entertained customers with carol singing and held a tombola where the top prize was a bottle of champagne.

“It was great to welcome Lucas and his parents into store and hand over the cheque. We were thrilled to see lots of friendly faces during our fundraising and are proud to have made our contribution towards such a worthy cause.’

A word from Lucas’s parents
Tessa Whiting, commented: “We are ever so grateful to the staff and customers of Specsavers Goole. Lucas is such a fun loving little boy and the sensory room will help him so much. We’re delighted with the contribution and would like to say a huge thank you to Robert and his team for their efforts.”
