Staff at Specsavers in Brownhills are Standing Up to Cancer this month.
The team pledged to support the Stand Up to Cancer initiative which raises money to accelerate progress in cancer research. All donations from the campaign (which has already raised more than £14.5 million) will go to Cancer Research UK.
Up until the end of October, visitors to the store will be able to enjoy drinks and cakes in return for donations to the charity, while the team will also be selling the Stand Up to Cancer wristbands and badges.
‘The team wanted to support this initiative as most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer,’ said Monica Brocklebank, store director.
‘There is of course a serious message behind what we’re doing, but we hope that customers stop by and support this great cause.’
Cancer Research UK is the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. It works to fight against cancer on all fronts, finding new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat it to save more lives.
