The team from a Chelmsley Wood Specsavers were all heart on Saturday 9 February to help raise funds for charity.
Staff from the store raised £230 for the British Heart Foundation following a red themed fundraising day.
Team members swapped their uniforms for some red attire while running a raffle and offering goody bags in return for donations. Visitors to the store could also test the skills of a local cartoonist who was drawing characters between 11 am and 4 pm, again in return for donations.
A word from the store director
‘We want to say a huge thank you to locals who popped into store and had a heart for charity this on Saturday,’ said store director, Sukhi Drake. ‘Cardiovascular disease still kills more than one in four people in the UK1, so the money we raised is vital but we hope we also raised awareness around heart health too.’
The British Heart Foundation raises money to research cures and treatments into heart and circulatory diseases.
