The team from Specsavers Cheltenham have raised £500 for neonatal charity Scoo-B-Doo after they took part in a fundraising walk on Sunday 30 June.
The team split into two groups, one wearing pink fancy-dress and the other blue. Twenty-five members of staff took part and were joined by friends and family to walk a route of nearly 10 miles for the Gloucester-based charity.
The team set off from the store, walking up through Prestbury, Southam and on to Bishops Cleeve. The route then passed Cheltenham Racecourse and brought the team back to the High Street.
A word from the store director
‘We had such a great time’ said Store Director Melanie Brackstone. ‘The weather was fantastic, and the walk took us about four hours to complete. We all enjoyed the evening and were delighted with our fundraising total. We would like to thank everyone who donated as well as those that joined us on the day.’
Scoo-B-Doo is a neonatal charity run by volunteers that supports the Neonatal unit of Gloucestershire Hospital. More than 80% of the equipment used on the ward has been funded by the charity, helping to ensure the babies are given the best possible care. Scoo-B-Doo relies on donations to provide equipment and essential items to sick and premature babies in Gloucestershire and beyond.
