To mark National Carers Week (11 – 17 June) Specsavers Cheltenham North West organised a stand to support Carers Gloucestershire; a local charity helping unpaid Carers in Gloucestershire.
Building on an existing relationship between the store and the charity, the information stand was set up for the day so staff could talk to locals about the charity’s services.
A good cause
‘We’re always keen to raise awareness for local charities,’ said PR coordinator Emily Ashman. ‘So many unpaid carers have little time for anything else, and are under a huge amount of pressure, so it’s lovely to see there’s a charity out there to support those individuals.’
Established in 1992, Carers Gloucestershire supports unpaid carers in the county by providing advice, counselling, assessments and training for local carers when they need it most.
The charity aims to empower those who care in Gloucestershire by promoting their rights and enabling them to make positive choices to improve their quality of life.
