Optical staff eye up 150 years of service
The team at a Specsavers Sutton Coldfield are celebrating their long service having totted up 150 years of experience between them.
Celebrations all round
Among the 60-strong team, optical consultant Helen Tolley is the longest serving member of the team having joined the store 25 years ago. Emma Wallis, a hearcare supervisor, and contact lens optician Andy Smith are also celebrating their 20 and 15 anniversaries.
Nine other members of the team are marking five to ten years with the store this year, collectively offering 150 years of optical experience to customers.
Tim Goodhew, store director, said: ‘We’re committed to providing our customers with the very best service when they visit us for a sight test or hearing check-up and having such a strong, dedicated team which is part of the local community really helps us to do that.
‘With many of the team having started their optical careers with us, they’ve become familiar faces to our customers. We’ve also been able to support them over the years with various training opportunities which I believe is one of the keys to our success. For those members of the team just starting out in store, it’s also really valuable to learn from people who have been in the industry for many years.’
Alongside Helen, Emma and Andy, Judith Leighton, Mandie Davis, Genna Carr, Rachel Mattiello, George Curtis and Nicky Lazara are celebrating 10 years. Meanwhile, Sam Foster, Raj Bansal and Sukhy Kaur are marking five years as part of the team.
