Old Swan Specsavers is looking back on a fantastic 2018 after increasing its optical and audiology services by 30%.
As well as employing extra staff, in 2018 the store doubled its floor space thanks to £160k of investment in new optical and audiology facilities on a newly created first-floor space.
Great local employer
The store employs 21 local people, five of which were taken on to ensure the uplift in services and customers could be met following the expansion. The store increased services significantly thanks to adding a first floor which consists of two more test rooms, a laboratory and staff facilities.
Big boost to service
Director Paul Stanway took over the store in 2016, and he led his team to boost customer numbers in-store, as well as increasing the number of clinics per week by 50% during this time.
The store also offers minor eye health clinics to treat a variety of minor eye conditions. In addition to this, they also offer Glaucoma Referral Refinement services as well as cataract post-op assessments, helping to relieve pressure from local A&E departments and wait time for patients needing this service.
Paul Stanway, store director at the Old Swan Specsavers store, said: ‘It really has been a fantastic year for us, especially following the store expansion. ‘Since adding another floor with extra test rooms we’ve been able to significantly boost our services for local people.
‘Our ongoing success this year is down to our fantastic team. They’ve pulled all the stops out to ensure all customers receive the same excellent service, as well as helping new additions to the team bed in.’
The store supports all of its staff in their own professional development too, with a number of team members always training to boost skills as part of their working days.
