Staff at Nottingham Specsavers are raising money to help people and animals who have been affected by the tragic fires in Australia this season.
The team at the Wheeler Gate store are holding a competition to name and win a soft toy koala, for donations of 50p per name or three names for £1. The competition runs until Monday 30 March, after which a winner will be drawn to take home the cuddly koala.
A word from the store director
Store director, Nicole Thacker, said: ‘We’ve been shocked to see the horrific images coming from Australia recently and want to do what we can to help. Any donations, however big or small, can make a huge difference in someone’s time of need.’
All money raised will be split between Australian Red Cross and Wires Wildlife Rescue. Wires is working to rescue and rehabilitate wildlife affected, while the Australian Red Cross is providing grants and support to those who have lost homes, loved ones and belongings in the fires.
