A team member at Nottingham Specsavers is trading the laboratory for the great outdoors as he takes part in a charity challenge to raise money for Guide Dogs.
The Walk Your Socks Off challenge will see lab manager, Robb Ridgeway, from the store on Wheeler Gate walking 100,000 steps in one week (24-30 May), while raising money to support people living with sight loss.
‘I’m not going to be taking on this challenge alone,’ said Robb. ‘My dog, Luna, is looking forward to getting plenty of exercise as she supports me all week, whatever the weather.’
‘The Guide Dogs charity is such a great cause, partnering people with life-changing canine companions, and we’ve all got to know them over the years through our charity partnership.’
Nottingham Specsavers store director, Simon Dunn, added: ‘We’re very proud of Robb for getting involved with Walk Your Socks Off and thankful for the support from our customers and the community.’
To donate, visit Robb’s Just Giving page: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/robb-ridgeway or pop into the store.
