Nottingham contact lens optician wins national award
Specsavers Nottingham's contact lens optician has triumphed at this year’s Optician Awards, taking home the Contact Lens Optician of the Year Award.
Suzanne Czerwinski, contact lens optician at Specsavers, 20 - 24 Wheelergate, was up against four other finalists from across the UK as she picked up one of the most prestigious awards in optics. Recognising Suzanne’s professional competency and customer-friendly attitude, the award was presented during a ceremony at Birmingham’s Vox Conference Centre.
Suzanne says: ‘I’m over the moon to have won this award. There were some very talented finalists, and it’s fantastic to be considered among them. I love my role, which helps me to do it well and I think that’s what helped me towards the award.’
The store had several other finalists in the running for awards on the night, including Luke Smith, Dispensing Optician of the Year finalist and Ravi Chawda, nominated for Optician of the Year, as well as reaching the finals for Best Optical Team.
Commitment to providing an excellent service
‘We had a fantastic time at the awards evening on Saturday and are absolutely thrilled for Suzanne to have won this award in recognition of her hard work,’ says Simon Dunn, store director at Specsavers Nottingham. ‘The Optician Awards are one of the highest accolades in our profession, so this is a wonderful achievement for the whole team and really demonstrates our commitment to providing an excellent service for all our customers.
‘Many people can feel uncomfortable about wearing glasses which makes contact lenses a fantastic alternative, so we do our best to make that an easy and affordable option for customers. As with anything new, contacts can take time to get used to, so we try to make sure customers are completely comfortable with their lenses, offering free trials and aftercare.’
The Optician Awards – organised by national trade magazine, Optician – have been running for more than 15 years and recognise the work of opticians across the UK in 16 categories.
