Northwich store making funny faces for Comic Relief
Wearing their bright red comedy glasses with hair raising eyebrows and their iconic red noses, Northwich Specsavers staff and customers were laughing it up at the weekend as the store raised £166 for Red Nose Day thanks to its fundraising bake sale.
Visitors to the Specsavers store in Northwich followed in the footsteps of Gok Wan and made their faces funny for money with Specsavers’ official Red Nose Day glasses, selling them for £3 with £1 from each sale being donated to Comic Relief.
Salma Kamaluddin, store director of Specsavers Northwich, said: ‘As a team we thoroughly enjoyed making our faces funny for money in support of the great work that Comic Relief does and it was fantastic to see so many customers join in the fun!
We certainly raised more than a few colourful smiles with our in-store bake sale which saw staff sporting some crazy looks to encourage sales of the delicious cakes we baked!
Thank you to everyone who came down, bought our cakes and made all our events such a good giggle for a great cause.’
Specsavers in Northwich joined Specsavers stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa.
Millions of people up and down the country made their faces funny and raised life changing amounts of money - from painting their faces to donning the Specsavers funny specs.
The money raised through Red Nose Day, held on Friday 13th March, helps poor and vulnerable people living incredibly tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa.
