Store directors Marinos Constantinides and Philip Rigby celebrate their longstanding partnership

Members of staff at Specsavers in Northampton have celebrated 25 years since the store opened in 1992.

Giant garden games

The event was marked with a fun day for staff and their families with activities for all. With a bouncy castle to keep the kids (big and small) happy, test your strength games, giant garden games and even a rodeo bull, there was plenty to keep the whole team entertained.

Store director Marinos Constantinides said: ‘I was here 25 years ago when we opened the doors, and I was joined by my co-director Philip a few years later.

'A lot has changed in that time; we opened amid the dark times of recession and high unemployment, and mediocre sporting performance as 1992 saw team GB win just 20 medals at the Barcelona Olympics, whereas we brought back 67 from Rio last year.

Growing team

'Despite the economic climate however, we flourished, and have grown from a team of 6 to a thriving team of 54, all the while delivering first-rate customer service to the residents of Northampton.

‘While much has changed, Specsavers dedication to customer care has remained, along with our appreciation of our staff. Without them, we simply wouldn’t be the successful local business that we are, and the directors hope that this day went some way to thanking them for their continued efforts.’
