Northampton’s youngsters will be safe during the dark winter months thanks to a local opticians.
High visibility jackets
Specsavers opticians in Northampton have been donating the high visibility jackets to local children’s clubs and sports clubs for use during the darker, winter months.
The store made the donations to promote road safety as part of a wider initiative calling for an end to the many tragedies taking place on UK roads on a daily basis.
Minds at ease
Store director, Marinos Constantinides, said: ‘Road safety is an important issue that we can all relate to, particularly for those who are parents. We hope that by making these donations and raising awareness, we can keep parents’ minds at ease when their children are out in the dark, whether it be walking to and from sports club activities or school.
‘We urge everyone to remember the importance of having your sight tested, especially drivers and those using the roads. We hope to communicate this important fact and to educate those that aren't already aware.’
