A pair of North East business partners have unveiled a brand new store in Stanley, creating seven new roles and investing hundreds of thousands of pounds in the area.

Ross McLachlan and Jill Thompson are the joint force behind the new Specsavers at Cromarty House on Front Street which will deliver enhanced optical and audiology services to the town.
The store which officially opens on Saturday 7 March boasts thousands of frames, a brand new OCT machine and two optical test rooms with an audiology facility.
Store directors Ross and Jill are currently at the helm at Specsavers in Chester-le-street and have a wealth of experience in optical and audiology services.
Having worked and lived in the North East all their lives, Jill and Ross hope that their new venture will have a positive impact on the local area and its residents.

The store will officially celebrate its opening on Saturday 7 March with fun and entertainment for staff and customers alike.
The Stanley store has two test rooms and also features an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) machine: a cutting-edge piece of equipment, usually found in hospital eye departments, which is used in the screening and management of conditions including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.
Specsavers in Stanley will be fully operational and open to the public as of the morning of the official launch on Saturday 7 March.
