Specsavers has launched its new national TV campaign which celebrates the real-life stories of customers and instore colleagues during lockdown, featuring Newlands’ ophthalmic director, Ruth Lalor.
The TV advert will be shown in England from 13 June but will be also available on the eye experts’ website and social media channels so that customers from across the UK and Ireland can also see some familiar faces.
Throughout lockdown Specsavers has been open for essential and emergency care and Ruth has been one of the key workers delivering prescription frames and helping local residents with eye health concerns via phone and video calls.
The 90-second film titled We Were There, tells the real-life stories of store colleagues, like Ruth, and customers experiences with Specsavers during lockdown when its doors were closed apart from offering urgent and essential care.
Ruth said: 'I'm really proud of being open for care, every single day during lockdown. We have been working with our local pharmacies, GPs, and hospitals to provide the best care and reassurance for our patients for all of their eye care and hear care needs and we will continue to do so for as long as we need to.
'We are unsure when we will be able to open our doors fully again, but when we do, our teams will be ready to welcome our customers with the same fantastic level of care as always.'
