New Malden eyecare experts support road safety
New Malden eyecare experts enlisted some little helpers to help spread the message about the links between visibility and road safety during Road Safety Week.
The team from Specsavers in New Malden shone the spotlight on road safety by handing out more than 100 high visibility vests to local school children and youth groups, including the Third West Barnes Brownies and Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, in celebration of the annual awareness week from the charity Brake.
A word from the store director
Ahmed Sivardeen, store director of Specsavers in New Malden, said: ‘As eyecare specialists, we have a responsibility to inform our young people about the links between sight and safety on the roads. Our hope is that by wearing their high visibility vests, not only will they be safer, but they will encourage others to be safer too.’
The store is also renewing its call to drivers to put vision on their agendas and make time for regular eye tests.
