Exeter Specsavers director is the face of a new, national TV advert which launched on screens last weekend.
Making his debut TV appearance in front of an audience of millions, Jonathan Baumber, retail director at Specsavers Hearing Centre in Exeter, is playing a key role in the biggest hearing campaign to date.
In the 40 second ad for the UK’s number one high street hearing aid provider, Jonathan champions hearcare, the Specsavers same-day test and fit service and launches a new promotion where customers purchasing a hearing aid can receive a free pair of glasses.
48-year-old Jonathan, from Lincolnshire, said: ‘I’m thrilled to be a part of such a big campaign in my 20th year with Specsavers. Other than retailing, acting was my other great ambition as a teenager, so to mark two decades here by starring in a national TV ad is a life-long dream come true for me.’

He took part in the 13-hour shoot in Eastleigh, Hampshire, to help bring the campaign to life on screen: ‘It was a long day of filming but it was a lot of fun being involved, and the finished product really shows viewers what Specsavers is all about. I think we’ve created something we can be proud of and which raises awareness of vital hearing services in the community.’
The advert launch coincides with a new promotional offer from Specsavers Hearing Centres, where customers purchasing a hearing aid in store will be offered a gift card for £69 to be redeemed against a new free pair of glasses. The offer runs until Saturday 31 May.
