New directors in the frame at Thornbury
Three new faces will be welcoming customers at Thornbury Specsavers, after the trio were appointed as directors earlier this month.
Mark Walker, Nirav Shah and Sarah McGowan, who are also store directors at the Bristol City Centre store, have taken over the running of the St. Mary’s Way store, sharing a combined 66 years of optical and retail experience.
Retail director, Mark, brings with him a wealth of knowledge having been with Specsavers for more than 14 years. He is actively involved in the local business community and has been chairman of Broadmead BID as well as a Learning City board member and a business advisor for the LEP.
Nirav is the optometrist director and has worked for Specsavers since qualifying in 2001. He looks after the clinical side of the business, overseeing compliance and training.
Contact lens optician director
While Sarah, contact lens optician director, uses her considerable 21 years’ experience in optics to help drive this part of the business forward, focusing on creating more appointments for customers.
All three directors are thoroughly looking forward to the new challenge and supporting Thornbury in their upcoming community events and fundraisers, starting with a donation of hi-visibility vests to the 3rd Thornbury scouts group: ‘To us community is at the helm of any successful local business,’ said Mark. ‘We are very much looking forward to meeting our customers and immersing ourselves and the store in the local community.
The store has been part of the Thornbury High Street for the past three years, so we saw this as the perfect opportunity to jump on board and use our range of skills and experience to drive it forward even further, while continuing to offer top notch customer service and optical care.’
