The Montrose has raised almost £1,150 for charities and good causes in the past year.

Local sponsorship and fundraising
The opticians held a number of fundraising events, with proceeds donated to Guide Dogs Scotland, as well as sponsoring local organisations including the Montrose Triathlon and Montrose Youth FC 2001.

Sponsorship included providing water bottles for participants taking part in the Montrose Triathlon – an annual swimming, cycling and running endurance race in the town.

The store also agreed a £500 sponsorship deal with Montrose Youth FC 2001, enabling the club to purchase new home strips. The team play in the under 15s Dundee and District Youth Football Association League.

Supporting the community
Bridgeen Johnston, director of Specsavers in Montrose, said: ‘It is very important to us to give back to the local area so we’ve very pleased to have had the opportunity to support the Montrose Triathlon and Montrose Youth FC 2001 as well as worthy charities like Guide Dogs Scotland.

‘I would like to thank all our customers for their support and the staff for helping to organise such successful fundraisers.

‘We already have some great plans to support Alzheimer Scotland in the next few months and we are looking forward raising further funds for another vital charity.’
