The Montrose store marks World Sight Day
Specsavers in Montrose encouraged the local community to have regular eye checks during World Sight Day.
The store promoted the importance of eye health and having sight tests every two years.
The world awareness day aims to highlight the fact that, in many cases, blindness caused by eye conditions is avoidable by having regular checks.
As well as looking at the health of the eyes, tests can also detect a variety of diseases including glaucoma, diabetes, high blood pressure and, in rare cases, even life-threatening conditions like brain tumours.
Bridgeen Johnston, director at Specsavers Montrose, says: 'World Sight Day is a perfect opportunity for us to encourage the community of Montrose to take better care of their eyes.
‘Eye exams are an important part of your overall health routine.
'Some people wait until they experience symptoms to see an optometrist but shouldn't because many eye problems are silent - meaning they have no symptoms.
'That’s why it’s essential to take care of your sight by having your eyes tested.'
