Monmouth optician in the frame for director role
An optician at Specsavers in Monmouth has been appointed as a director to oversee its optical and audiology services.
Emily Anne-Frost, 27, will join current director, Louise Harvey, at the Monnow Street store in Monmouth, replacing former director Peter Render.
Ms Frost first joined Specsavers in Monmouth in February 2011 as an optical assistant. In less than a year she was enrolled on a two-and-a-half year training course, allowing her to begin her pre-registration training, qualifying as a dispensing optician in 2014.
During her training she was promoted to store manager as part of a plan to build her skills to director level. She will now work alongside Ms Harvey to manage the store’s day-to-day operations.
‘Stepping up to this new challenge’
‘When I joined the business in 2011, I never imagined just how much support I would receive to enable me to get to where I am today,’ says Ms Frost.
‘I was born and bred in Monmouth, so I jumped at the opportunity to become strategically involved in a business that is so well-respected in my local community. I’m looking forward to stepping up to this new challenge and seeing how my input as a director can help make the business the best it can be.’
Louise Harvey, director, adds: ‘Emily has shown time and time again that she is a great asset to the team, quickly rising through the ranks since she joined us five years ago.
‘She has excelled in her various clinical and retail roles at the store, understanding the need to provide consistently high standards of service to customers but also look after and nurture the team. I’m thrilled to have Emily join me as store director.’
