Mission Christmas comes to Antrim
Specsavers in Antrim has signed up with Downtown Radio and Cool FM’s Mission Christmas appeal on behalf of the Cash for Kids NI charity. From 14th November 2016 the store in Castle Mall will be a collection point for the public who wish to donate gifts which will be distributed to disadvantaged local children who would otherwise receive nothing at Christmas time.
Cash for Kids NI
Store manager Ita Armour, says, ‘Earlier this year we adopted Cash for Kids NI as our charity for the year and so we are really keen to support their campaigns in the local area. Mission Christmas is a fantastic project which makes a real difference to children who face waking up with no presents on Christmas morning. We would encourage all our customers and local shoppers to buy just one extra gift when they’re doing their shopping and drop it off in our store as soon as possible.’
Helping disadvantaged children
Cash for Kids is a registered children’s charity whose mission is to raise money to help the thousands of disadvantaged children in Northern Ireland who right now are relying on their support. For Mission Christmas the charity needs new and unwrapped gifts suitable for children and young people aged 0-18 years. Everything that is collected will be distributed to children in the local area.
Just buy one extra gift
Stephanie Laverty, Charity Manager, says, ‘We’re so grateful for all of the support we’ve received from Specsavers Antrim so far in 2016, and pleased to have them on board as a drop off point for Mission Christmas. One in four children right here in Northern Ireland are living in poverty, and for many of these children Christmas is just a dream. By dropping off an extra gift or making a donation to Mission Christmas, you’ll be helping us make Christmas a reality!’
