40 Specsavers staff rode for Cancer Research UK

Staff from Specsavers in Coulby Newham and Middlesbrough took part in an in-store bike ride recently to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Excerise bikes helped team ride to success

The 40-strong team from both stores raised a fantastic £703, with the staff clocking up hundreds of miles on exercise bikes.

Someone is diagnosed with cancer every two minutes in the UK, so all fundraising attempts are vital to charities such as Cancer Research UK.

David Stockton, store director, said: ‘Our employees in both stores have really come together to raise this money for Cancer Research UK.

‘Fundraising for charity is an important part of Specsavers work and a great way of engaging with the local community. This charity in particular is very close to our hearts and we hope that the money raised will help in providing life-saving treatments.’
