Middlebrook team welcomes Rugby League World Cup stars
The team at Specsavers at Middlebrook Retail Park met stars of the Rugby League World Cup this week at a launch to celebrate Specsavers' sponsorship of the match officials.
Kevin Juste and Nasima Hinglotwala from the store joined home nations players Ben Kavanagh (Scotland), Lloyd White (Wales) Tyrone McCarthy (Ireland) and Jon Wilkin (England) as they unveiled a new kit modelled by Super League referees Ben Thaler, Tim Roby and Phil Bentham.
Helping the experts to see
Store manager Kevin says he was delighted to be invited to the high profile launch: ‘The north west is a heartland for rugby league so we’re proud to be involved in the sport.
'Nasima and I enjoyed the opportunity to meet top players and referees and celebrate this sponsorship, which builds on Specsavers’ existing sporting pledge to help the experts to see.
Supporting the refs
‘Technological advancements in recent years have certainly helped match officials but we’re glad to do our bit where we can to help ensure that they get the best possible support to do their job.
The aptly-named Rugby League World Cup 2013 general manager, Sally Bolton added: ‘It was fantastic to welcome Specsavers as a partner of Rugby League World Cup 2013. They are a perfect match for sponsorship of the RLWC2013 match officials. Specsavers branding appeared on perimeter boards, metre markers and corner posts on the pitch, as well the match officials kit, often seen at crucial points of the games.
