Middlebrook Specsavers staff spot specs appeal
Stylish glasses-wearers were out in force during a fun-packed day at the Middlebrook Retail Park store on Saturday as part of a national competition.
Eagle-eyed staff were on the lookout for individuals with the potential to be Specsavers’ Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2014 while there was also face painting for youngsters inside the store.
Spectacle Wearer of the Year
Every year, Specsavers scours the UK to find the man and woman who look absolutely amazing in specs. The competition is open to anyone aged over 16 and entrants are not required to be spectacle wearers to be in with a chance of winning as anyone is welcome to take part.
And in order to celebrate the competition is style, staff were dressed in their finest 70s disco outfits while they lookout for winners.
This year’s competition was launched by singer, Kimberley Walsh, who is best known for being a former member of internationally renowned girls group, Girls Aloud.
Fantastic local support
Kevin Juste, Specsavers Middlebrook store manager, says: ‘It was a fantastic event and it’s great to see there are lots of fashionistas in the local area who look stylish in specs.
‘We were delighted to find plenty of enthusiastic locals in the town centre who took part in our fantastic competition.’
Your chance to win
Everyone who enters at the Middlebrook Retail Park store has been entered into the national competition in the hope of becoming the overall winner and receiving prizes including £10,000 in cash, a holiday to the Bahamas and £1,000 to spend on eyecare.
For each eligible entry received Specsavers also donates £1 to anti-bullying charity Kidscape.
Kevin continues: ‘The Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition gives us the opportunity to shout about our local talent, and now that even none-spectacle wearers can enter it is a great opportunity for anyone to get involved.’
