Specsavers Irvine employee Teresa Garden has qualified as a hearing aid dispenser.
Teresa decided to further her career in audiology as she is fascinated by anatomy and how the ears work.
She completed the Hearcare Champions Course in 2011, and in 2012 she enrolled in the Hearcare Assistant Course (HCA) at the University of Birmingham. She travelled to Birmingham regularly to complete coursework and was supervised by Specsavers hearing aid dispensers.
Passed assignments and practical exams
After completing the HCA course, Teresa enrolled on the hearing aid dispenser course at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh. As part of her training, she was supervised by Ryan Forbes from Specsavers Glasgow and Hazel Pritchett from Specsavers Irvine.
Teresa was delighted to pass all of her assignments and practical examinations in May and will graduate on 8 July at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh.
She said: ‘I am over the moon to have passed all of my exams and can't wait for the next step on my journey in the world of hearing aid dispensing. I would like to thank everyone who has helped me along the way and given me the confidence and help needed to complete this diploma.’
