Happy customers makes Dorking's store manager, Davinia very happy too! Here we introduce you to Davinia and what she enjoys most about her career.
31 year old Davinia from Chessington has been with Specsavers for 11 years and during that time, she has seen many exciting new developments in the optical industry. She says: 'It never ceases to amaze me how incredible the technological advancements are in optics.
'We have equipment that can look at the health of the eye, which can also flag indicators of wider health issues. This is why we are always so eager to promote the importance of 2 year eye examinations.
'I feel it is a big responsibility of mine and my peers to ensure we get this message out whenever we can.'
Davinia's talks 'fashionable frames'
In addition to the innovations and professional health services offered at the store, Davinia is keen to stress how fashion is very much on the agenda at the Dorking store.
'When I was a child, frames were not very cool but today, people see frames as a fashion statement and we have a great choice for those seeking something on-trend and affordable. Children have great ranges to choose from - such as our new Despicable Me and Gruffalo frames - and we recently introduced an exclusive range designed by Kylie Minogue for adults.
'Customers are always commenting on the great ranges we have and their challenge is usually streamlining a choice down to one or two frames!'
Davinia's career path to the Dorking store
Davinia (FBDO) has been with the Dorking team for five years now.
She started her career with Specsavers when she saw an advertisement in her local paper and it ticked all her boxes, as she was interested in optics from an early age. She now thrives in her role as a manager and strives to ensure customer service is always paramount with her team.
She concludes: 'Our business is a people business. We are transforming lives with corrective eyewear and the advice we give always needs to be sound and tailored to that individual.
'Receiving customer praise is the ultimate testament that we are getting it right and this still gives me a buzz everyday.'
