Meet the Connswater team
Specsavers in Connswater Shopping Centre first opened in 2001 with 8 members of staff. Owned and managed by store directors Lynsey Caldwell and Paula Cunningham, the store has grown significantly and now employs 34 staff locally. Together Lynsey and Paula have clocked up almost 28 years in the business providing essential health services to local people.
Last year Lynsey and Paula invested almost £300,000 in relocating to larger premises in Connswater in response to community demand for its services. The new store has five optical test rooms and a dedicated hearing centre with a sound-proof room for hearing testing.
Well trained staff
The Connswater store currently employs five full time optometrists and two fully qualified dispensing opticians with two additional team members training in both disciplines. They are supported by X optical assistants, administrative staff, and three laboratory technicians. Training is always ongoing to constantly update and improve skills thus ensuring the very best service to customers.
In the Connswater store there are three qualified hearing professionals who are trained to find the best solution for each individual customer’s hearing needs. A three minute ear screening test is offered free of charge seven days a week. If this test identifies a need for more detailed testing this too is offered by appointment with the audiologist.
Lynsey and Paula are committed to offering the very best services to meet the optical and hearing needs of the local community. They have invested in the latest optical technology such as digital retinal photography. Their on-site dispensing laboratory allows customers speedy access to their new glasses.
