Meet the Ashford store directors
Catherine McVicker and Clive Perry are store directors at Specsavers in Ashford.
Catherine McVicker – Optometrist Director
Catherine has been with Specsavers for 23 years and originally worked at the Chatham store before opening the Ashford store in 1995.
Although she was born in Kent, most of her time was spent in Cheltenham. She studied Optometry at City University London and did her pre-registration year in Twickenham before moving to Kent.
Customer service is key
Catherine said: ‘I love the variety of people that you get into the store.
‘I can build a rapport with them in the time that we spend together, which makes everything more relaxed and friendly. Making the customers smile is always important.’
In her spare time, Catherine enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as experiencing culinary delights at new restaurants and walking her dog in the Kent countryside.
Clive Perry – Store Director and Contact Lens Optician
Clive has worked at Specsavers in Ashford for nearly 20 years.
Born and raised in Morden in Surrey, he qualified as an optician in 1980 and his inspiration for the profession stemmed from several members of his family who were also opticians.
Clive said: ‘We have a very happy and caring team here at Specsavers in Ashford.
‘I love being able to help create such a passionate team to give people the best possible optical experience.’
Clive is a church deacon in his local Baptist church. In his spare time, he enjoys travelling, wine-tasting and gardening.
