Sean Hitz is a Lab Technicians and Optical Assistant at Specsavers The Gyle. Here, he fills us in on his favourite parts of the job and how he got to where he is today.
Sean is orginally from Zimbabwe, but moved to Scotland in 2008. He now lives in Rosyth with my wife and two children. Since 2004 Hitz has worked in optics, but he started working at Specsavers Gyle Centre in 2009.
A note from Sean
'I own several pairs, but I’m currently wearing a signature style from our Hackett range. The frame is square with some subtle colouring. I like classic styles' said Sean.
About the job
Mr Hitz works across two stores; the Gyle Centre and the Corstorphine store. His role is varied as he works in the Laboratory making glasses, but also assists with dispensing and frame selection, so I see the whole process from start to finish.
In the Corstorphine store customers and staff have the oppourtunity to use the new state of the art technology called Frame Styler. The technology creates a digital map unique to each customer's face to provide optimum choice on frame styles. This helps to make sure we produce a high quality product for every customer.
Importance of eye health
It's essential to have a regular tests to make sure your vision and eye health is maintained. In addition to our great service in store; Specsavers offer is home visits for customers who can't make it into the store. To see if you/ or a family memeber qualifies for our home visits click here.
