The teams at the Specsavers stores in Chatham, Gillingham and Strood are a competitive bunch – and recently they joined forces to compete for prizes at a charity quiz night which was full of fun.

The quiz, in aid of Prostate Cancer UK, was held at the Frog & Toad in Gillingham where dispensing assistant Glenda from the Chatham store is the landlady.

Great food on offer

Glenda provided some great pub food to the teams including cottage pie, chilli and rice, and vegetable chilli for vegetarians.

More than 30 members of staff from across the three stores came to take part and enjoy the fun over five rounds and a tricky picture quiz. The winners were a tri-store team including store director Punit Patel.

Raising funds for charity

Each store donated raffle prizes to the value of £30, and Yve from the Chatham store managed to secure a voucher for a meal for two at Nando’s and a voucher from M&S – both at Dockside Outlet Shopping Centre.

The event raised an amazing £207 for Prostate Cancer UK.

A word from Punit

Punit said: ‘The quiz night was a tremendous success, and I am not just saying that because my team won. Although that obviously helped.

‘In all seriousness, the event was a great team building activity for the Chatham, Gillingham and Strood stores, and raising more than £200 for charity at the same time was definitely the icing on the cake. We hope to be back to defend our title at another one soon.’
