The Specsavers team in March has celebrated five years of business in the town by continuing their efforts to raise much needed funds for a local charity.
Funds for FACET
The store invited residents to join in their birthday celebrations and support FACET, a charity which helps adults with a range of disabilities, with a bake sale and raffle. The raffle, which includes donations from other local businesses, will continue throughout the month to help FACET reach their target of £20,000 for a new mobile classroom.
Going the extra mile
Trevor Clark, store director at Specsavers in March, says: ‘The team have really gone the extra mile to raise funds and have been dressed in sportswear for the last three weeks completing five miles a day on a cross trainer. We’ve had great fun doing it!
‘We are extremely proud to be celebrating these achievements and have already raised over £700, but this is really about all the adults at FACET.’
FACET provides a base for activities, training and community projects for adults with a range of disabilities from the Fenland area.
