Specsavers March celebrate their expansion with FACET
Specsavers opticians in March are joined by FACET to celebrate their expansion

A student from a local charity, that focuses on providing training and care for adults with a range of different disabilities, was invited to open Specsavers March’s new eye testing and contact lens training room – as part of the stores ongoing patronage.

Summer celebrations
The store chose FACET student John Syrett and manager of the charity, Kris Harrold, to do the honours of opening up the new room in line with their sponsorship of the charity this year.

Staff at the store, which now boasts a total of three testing rooms and a dedicated contact lens training area after the refurbishment, were also assisted by John to announce the lucky winners of their month long raffle which included designer kit and Bloc frames from the stores summer collection.

Dedication to the cause
Store Director, Trevor Clark, says: ‘We’re honoured to have one of FACET’s own students in store to help celebrate our expansion. Hopefully with our mission to aid them with their target of £20,000 for a new mobile classroom soon we will be celebrating their expansion too!’

‘So far we’ve managed to raise 75 per cent of our £500 goal by hosting several fundraising events, and it’s so lovely to be able get the team and students at FACET involved in what we do.’

FACET is a charity that provides a base for activities, training and community projects for adults with a range of disabilities from the Fenland area. The activities on offer include training in IT, Maths, English, independent living skills and cooking, supporting students to develop their skills to become more independent in the local community.
