Specsavers in Walworth Road is looking to make ear health one of its main priorities this year by urging residents to come in for a hearing test.
An Increasing Problem
Statistics have shown that one in six adults in the UK experience some degree of hearing loss, with the main onset of deterioration tending to begin in their mid-thirties. However, it is estimated that by 2035, there will be a significant rise in these figures, with the amount of adults experiencing hearing loss increasing to one in five.
With this in mind, Walworth residents are being encouraged to use their New Year resolve to get their hearing tested. The test is carried out by a qualified hearing professional and is incredibly simple, using a series of recognition tasks to test how well you can hear different sounds and vibrations.
A word from the Store Director
Suraj Shah, store director at Specsavers Walworth Road said: ‘People often use the New Year as an opportunity to make a renewed effort to be health-conscious, whether that be through exercise regimes or diet plans. But we’d also like to emphasise that ear health is an important aspect of our overall wellbeing and getting a hearing test this year is something people should definitely try and make time for.’
