Visitors to Specsavers in Market Harborough were treated to a magical surprise this summer as the store hosted a fun-filled Harry Potter extravaganza.

Customers and passers-by were welcomed into the Specsavers School of Witchcraft and Wizardry by a real-life Ron Weasley look-alike, and even had the chance to transform themselves into their favourite characters with a face painter.

A magical event

A variety of tasty treats were on offer throughout the day, from Honeyduke’s homemade sweets to Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans. Visitors were even treated to Ministry of Magic games by the Specsavers team, who were dressed as witches and wizards from the books.

‘I think I can speak for the whole team when I say that we had a fantastic day,’ said store director, Barry Henning. ‘We were delighted to welcome so many Market Harborough residents – and Harry Potter fans – into our store for the magical event!’

A host of prizes were on offer to lucky visitors, including studio tickets and a Harry Potter hamper complete with the DVDs, book sets and cardboard cut-out characters.

Barry added: ‘This is one of many themed days that we have hosted here in store, and it certainly won’t be the last. A big thank you to everyone who joined us on the day, and don’t forget to look out for what we are up to in the future!’
