Ludlow team supports Blind Veterans UK
The team at Specsavers in Ludlow will be making a spectacle of themselves during Armed Forces Week (20-26 June) as they raise money for Blind Veterans UK.
Showing their support for the charity, staff will be hosting bake sales throughout the week and inviting customers to get behind this year’s ‘Make a Spectacle of Yourself’ campaign. The store has also pledged to donate £1 from every sight test carried out during Armed Forces Week.
Making a difference
Nicola Aubrey, store director, said: ‘Armed Forces Week is a great chance for us to raise much-needed funds for this wonderful charity, while also having a little bit of fun. As well as decorating the store with union flags and offering sweet treats to customers in return for donations, we’ll also be donating £1 from each eye test carried out in store during the week.
‘Blind Veterans UK provides crucial support to those who have either lost or had their sight damaged while serving our country in the armed forces. The charity works tirelessly to give its members their independence back and helps them discover a life beyond sight loss, so I’m sure the money we raise will make a real difference to some very deserving people.’
Blind Veterans UK was founded in 1915 and offers support, training and rehabilitation to blind and vision-impaired ex-servicemen and women. The charity’s mission is to ensure that all blind veterans have access to the finest quality services to help them discover life beyond sight loss.
